Names with an asterisk ( * ) we are biased towards because we personally have done business or volunteered with said resource. Names with a citation one ( ¹ ) we have a personal acquaintance but have not done business with. None of the resources listed below are aware of their existence on this page. This group is located in Austin and serves to the Greater Austin area. They are a trained network of churches offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support to disaster survivors to meet short and long-term needs.

Undoubtedly the loss of a loved one can leave a chasm. 

This group is located in Dripping Springs and provides bereavement consulting. Plan ahead so you can expect the unexpected.

Buy Nothing Project*

We exist to build resilient communities where our true wealth is the connections forged between neighbors.

This group is located on Facebook in your neighborhood.

Cornerstone Restoration*

Building meaningful relationships between our vulnerable neighbors and volunteer community through construction-related projects.

This group serves in the Lake Travis area. They accept building materials, tools and hardware donations. If you are in need of assistance for a project completion, visit their website. Project requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, but please do not let this deter you to apply.

Einstein Moving Company*

Whether you’re moving across town or across the state, this moving company is here to help with a variety of moving services that will take the stress out of your upcoming move.

This group serves all Austinites, with locations in both north and south Austin. Though a bit higher in pricing, they do a job well done.

Freecycle*

The grassroots and entirely non-profit movement of people who are giving and getting stuff for free in their own towns.

This group has various locations. When your neighborhood Buy Nothing is not an option, this is a great way to broaden the horizon to the entire town.

Hope Family Thrift Store

Helping survivors, serving community. We provide financial support to the Austin Disaster Relief Network, providing a clean, organized distribution center for disaster survivors to receive free clothing, shoes and goods and offer gently used quality merchandise at affordable prices to the local community.

This group recently relocated to the Wells Branch neighborhood. Their store on 51st Street has permanently closed. Visit their website for accepted items.

Purple Heart Foundation

Honor their sacrifice with your service. Help us enhance the lives of veterans everywhere.

This group has various locations including Dallas and Houston. They consider all vehicles, running or not. They also accept well cared for and new clothing.

Reveal Resource Center

Offering food pantry, clothes closet and diapers serving 500 low-to-moderate income families weekly.

This group is located in Cedar Park. They are always in need of gently used men's clothing and accessories.

RunnerCity*

Connecting with runners, peer-to-peer, to get stuff done while eliminating the dependency of other fee gouging apps.

This group is currently only available within the Austin city limits. They offer moving, food, shopping, alcohol, cleaning, hauling, roadside, landscaping, handy person, pet care and ride share.

This group is located in Austin, servicing in a radius of about 25 miles around the Capitol. Steve and his team will come to you. They will service your car at your home and workplace at a very affordable cost.

This group is located in Tyler. They aim to seek out and find needs unmet for community members that have gone unnoticed and create unique solutions to help our neighbors.

This group is on Facebook. They are the kindest corner of the internet offering support based on Kathi Lipp's Clutter Free books, podcast and programs. The podcast can be found on all major platforms wherever podcasts are played.
